More often we come across decorative structures installed in front of various types of properties. These structures are referred to as bollards and can be installed in front of homes, businesses, hospitals, schools, malls and even at public places for traffic control and management. The main aim of the installation of such structures is to protect the properties or structures behind them from any sort of damages and hence ensure their safety in all respects. Bollards are easily accessible in different types of materials such as concrete, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminium, wooden, plastic and so on. It all depends upon the unique needs of the given site and also the choices of the users.

Apart from offering the requisite protection to the properties or structures, bollards also help in enhancing the visual appeal of the given property and the entire area. One of the most important points related to bollards is their proper and safe installation at the given site. In the current content, we are discussing the installation of bollards based on cast iron.

Start With Outlining Of The Ground

For proper installation of the cast iron bollards, you must start with outlining the ground or the given area. It lets you know how and where the bollards need to be exactly installed to serve the given purpose.

Mark The Points Of Installation

Once you are done with outlining the entire area, you must start with marking the points where bollards must be exactly mounted on the ground. It is important to maintain proper distance between the bollards and also other structures or things around while doing so.

Start With The Digging Of The Holes

Following the marking of the installation points, you may start with the digging of the holes. For this, you must keep in mind the diameter of the bollards and dig holes accordingly. The holes must be somewhat bigger in size than the actual size of the bollards for easier accommodation of the same inside the holes.

Fix The Bollard Properly

After digging the holes, you need to fix the bollards properly into them. Make sure bollards fit well inside the holes to rule out chances of any problems later on. Use the requisite adhesive materials to ensure that the bollards remain fixed in their position.

Let It Settle Down Completely

Once the entire work is done, you must wait for some time so that cast iron bollards may settle down completely. It ensures that these will remain fixed in their position without any issues.

This was all about the installation of bollards made from cast iron. By following this simple guide, proper and successful installation of the bollards at any place can be assured.
