How Diet And Exercise Affects Your Skin

What you put into your body is just as important as the products you put on it. Even if you religiously follow a strict skincare regime and meticulously apply each product day and night, you can still suffer from acne and breakouts if you are not watching your diet. The food we eat gets digested and broken down into vitamins and nutrients that our body needs to build strong, healthy skin. Eating mostly processed or junk foods leaves your skin with fewer nutrients to repair and renew itself. We’ve already mentioned that you should cut back on sugary drinks if you want to improve your skin, but you can also start drinking more green tea, black coffee, and plenty more water. Green tea and coffee are both rich in antioxidants, which protect your skin from environmental factors and help prevent cell damage. Staying properly hydrated is essential for your overall health, and drinking enough water every day will help keep your skin clear, plump and supple.

Diet and exercise usually go hand in hand, whether you want to lose weight, bulk up, or get clear, healthy skin. Exercise increases the blood flow throughout your body, which in turn helps nourish your skin cells. Blood carries essential nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells, and flushes out waste products, free radicals and toxins, so your skin cells can work efficiently and effectively, leaving you with a wonderful healthy glow.

As you can see, there is so much more to getting good skin than just buying the most expensive or cult favorite beauty products. You have to pay attention to how you treat your body also, and what you put into it. Take steps to improve your diet and increase your physical activity today. Not only will you end up feeling fantastic, your skin will look better than it ever has, too.
