Dr. Curtis Cripe- The Link Between Gardening And Mental Health

Mental health should never be ignored and overlooked. The recent coronavirus pandemic has increased fear, anxiety, depression, and other negative emotions that have a detrimental effect on people’s mental health across the world. However, the solution to mental health issues lies in something close to your home: your garden. Now the question is how?

Dr. Curtis Cripe-The Link Between Your Physical Health And Gardening

Dr. Curtis Cripe is a neuro-engineer who provides cognitive rehabilitation and neurodevelopment programs for PSTD, addiction, autism, and behavioral health problems. He is the CEO and the Founder of the NTL Group Inc in Scottsdale. Before this, he established The Crossroads Institute, where clinical specialists from seven states optimized patented approaches in the field of neurodevelopment for helping patients overcome problems like addiction or anxiety or just simply improve their cognitive or intellectual abilities.

The Fantastic Effects Of Gardening On Your Health

According to him, you might be able to draw any link between physical health and gardening. However, you will be surprised that gardening helps you get out in nature. One of the best reasons for you to go out into the garden is that you are in the midst of nature, and studies have proved over time that people in the heart are less stressed and have reduced levels of anxiety. This is why they are composed and happy. They are more responsive than reactive. When you are in the midst of nature, you breathe fresh air and are in a peaceful setting.

Boost Endorphins In The Body With Simple Gardening Tasks

Looking after plants and flowers helps you boost the endorphins in the body. The best part is that you do not have to venture far to get in the middle of nature in the post-pandemic era. Even if you are clearing things in the garden, you are doing many physical exercises like bending, lifting, and moving around, even more than you would have done if you sat at home. Endorphins are released inside the body when you exercise, giving you a pleasant and happy feeling.

Feel Better And Positive Daily

Exercise is vital for mental health, and when you dig deeper into it, you can feel better. No matter how small your garden is, it makes sense for you to go in it and start taking care of it for good mental and physical health with success.

According to Dr. Curtis Cripe, you might not feel excited about gardening; however, once you get deep into it, you will understand its value in no time. You will forget about stress and worries. There is something primitive about gardening and caring for your lawn or even cutting flowers. It can make you forget about the rest of your world and focus on caring for the plants and flowers instead. This has tremendous therapeutic value and makes you feel both happy and healthy. At the end of the day you should do things that will make you happy and relaxed.
