How Exercise Can Benefit Your Mental Health

Mental health is as important as physical health, personal trainers loughborough understand this and agree that regular exercise is by far one of the most effective ways of improving your mental health. So what are some of the mental health benefits of exercise?

It makes you feel good! Feeling more relaxed and having more energy are just some of the benefits of exercise, which is very powerful medicine for common mental health challenges.

The fact I have suffered from anxiety for as long as I can remember is perhaps why I wanted to share this article with you, and share with you some of the benefits exercise has on your mental health. I hope that some of these can help you as they have helped me:

Exercise and anxiety

Believe or not exercise can actually help anxiety in a natural way. Exercise can relieve tension and boost mental energy. Every heard of endorphins? Well, exercise helps to release endorphins which helps with mental energy and stress. Anything that gets you off the sofa and active can help!

Exercise promotes neural growth and promotes changes in the brain. As I mentioned previously exercise releases endorphins which are very powerful chemicals in your brain that make you feel good. It’s a natural powerful depression fighter! So why wouldn’t you do it, having a personal trainer as well to guide you through is extremely helpful! Finally, exercise can also serve as a distraction, allowing you to find some quiet time to break out of the cycle of negative thoughts that feed depression.

Exercise and stress

Next time you feel stressed take a moment to take note of how your body is feeling? You will probably notice your muscles feeling tense, especially in your neck and even in your face. You may even feel a sensation like someone is sitting on your chest. These worries can lead to unsettled and broken sleep, heartburn and can even affect your stomach.

Exercise can help break this cycle, and release those important endorphins as well as help relax muscles. Remember the body and mind are very closely linked, healthy body healthy mind!
